NAMCYA stages #galingNAMCYA

Ever heard of NAMCYA (National Music Competitions for Young Artists)? First time I’ve heard of NAMCYA was when I was in high school. Our Glee Club (still glee club back then since Special Performing Arts [SPA] classes were not yet established during my time) was shortlisted to compete in the choir category. I was not part of the glee club but my bestfriend was so I’ve heard stories of their experiences. When my youngest brother was in high school, he was part of the Special Performing Arts class. He joined the choir and loved it from that time on. I […]

Happy Father’s Day

During my younger years, I never felt that we were poor. Maybe because my Dad provided well for our family without any complaints. He was what I would call a traditional family man. He worked hard but at the same time, he and my Mom made sure that we still spend time together as a family. He always had the final say in everything. He was the kind of father that will let us do things on our own and would support us in every decision you make. But at the same time, he would also make sure that we are within the bounds of the family values that he and my Mom instilled in us.

A Different Perspective…

The ability to choose JOY, in all circumstances. The ability to say what is meant, and mean what is said. The ability to overcome and persevere, despite countless obstacles and opposition. The ability to shine light in places that have none. The ability to see & understand things in spiritual realms, that other people can’t. The ability to make people smile, with one glance. The ability to see good, where other people see bad. The ability to slow down and enjoy the little things in life. The ability to NOT be corrupted by the world’s standards of beauty, strength and […]

Therapy Sessions: Occupational Therapy

Last April, I blogged about Z’s physical therapy sessions. His PT sessions are now scheduled every Saturday. Well, I still have to get up early since his therapy is still in the mornings but it’s not as stressful as preparing for therapy on Wednesday mornings. However, as of last week, Z started sessions for occupational therapy. Since it is already the start of classes for some schools, therapy sessions were rescheduled so a slot was opened for Z for Monday morning session. I know, good luck with the traffic. Last Monday’s traffic wasn’t so bad though. We don’t really pass by busy thoroughfares so […]

Feeding the Little Boy…

Z is already 2 years and 9 months old. How time flies, indeed. While he still doesn’t eat on his own, he has a very good appetite. He could finish a bowl of pasta on his own, he consumes about a cup of rice every meal, he doesn’t know how to eat junk food, and he doesn’t eat sweets. He even doesn’t like pizza! LOL! He still doesn’t like to eat by himself so I or his nanny has to feed him. But he knows how to use his spoon, only he would rather play with it rather than eat with it. […]

Mission Accomplished…

After about two weeks of sleepless nights, long hours at work and short-circuiting brains, we were able to deliver – as a team – and present our project in an excellent manner. Whew! All I can say now is this: I can sleep peacefully now without data hounding my mind and presentation materials flashing through my subconscious as I sleep. I can now concentrate on my tasks which has been piling up and needs to be completed within the week. I will still be spending long hours at work because of this but I think I can manage it more than […]

It’s a Win-Win Situation Afterall…

I mentioned yesterday about a job opportunity that came knocking. I’ve agreed to have a call with the Talent Acquisition Advisor, the one who contacted me via LinkedIn and we had the call about an hour ago. Their operations here in the Philippines is consolidated in one location only and their facility is in Batangas. The job requires someone very similar to what I am currently doing and one of the reasons that I fit their requirement, I learned, was my background on the business systems used. Apparently, they are having a hard time looking for someone with similar background that I […]

Mind Babbles…

I should be sleeping now but for some reason, I can’t. It has been a gloomy day today at work (as gloomy as the weather, it seems) since it was our boss’s last day. He made his final endorsements, last set of photos taken with him, one last round of “see you soon”s. His access card made the last beep as he stepped out into the lobby to wait for the lift that will bring him to the parking lot. Lots of tears were still shed. The mood was different. People tried to be as normal as they could get, but […]

No Goodbyes, Just See You Around…

Today was the farewell party for our boss. Everybody was emotional, a lot of tears were shed. I myself had a hard time stopping myself from crying. The Friday before last, our boss had a big announcement where our director and general manager attended. He announced that he was leaving the company because of a better opportunity. While I already anticipated that one day, he will have to leave, the announcement came as a shock as I was thinking that this would be his last company before he retires. But then, I guess, fate had other ideas. He was given […]

Sepanx…

It’s been almost a week and a half since I left the little boy back home in the mountain city for his 2-week vacation. The house has been feeling empty and lonely since then. A week before we traveled home, I have been telling Z that he will be spending time with his Mama Nana and Uncle Reis. I told him that he will get to enjoy a cooler weather, too. So when the time came that we needed to go, he got too clingy and didn’t want to let Mommy go. He didn’t even want to go with his nanny […]
