Happy Easter! I was meaning to post this a couple of days ago but I was so tired from the weekend activities that I never got to finish it. 😛 We didn’t go home to the mountain city for the holy week, rather, my Mom came to the big metro to spend a few days with us and to have a much needed rest. Seems like my Mom’s schedule was fully booked and she was stressed as well so getting away from home was what she needed. My Mom arrived Friday morning and left a couple of hours ago to […]
Midnight Babbles: The Day shift…
It’s already the 14th of March this side of the world. Where did half of the month go? It seems like yesterday and I was thanking the heavens that February is over and here we are, already halfway through the next month. Sheesh! Since last week, I have been on the morning shift. In other words, I work like the rest of the normal people – 9AM-6PM shift. Traffic in the mornings is really bad but I have been enjoying the morning commute, for some twisted reason. LOL! I take the tricycle then I take the bus then walk the […]
Things I’ve Learned From My New Normal
Being a workaholic, a happy-go-lucky person then suddenly became a Mom is such a big turn in life. The things you do prior to having the responsibility of raising a kid are things you can no longer do once you do have a kid in tow. You can no longer party the way you did before or leave the house whenever you want to. No more shopping impulsively just because you were in the mood for it. No more long hours at work just because you are so motivated to get things done before their deadlines. Once you become a Mom, the way you define […]
When Kids Get Sick
Z started his physical therapy session this week, last Wednesday in fact. It will be his regular weekly schedule now and it will be once a week. I’m still waiting for a schedule for his occupational therapy as well. Both sessions really do go hand in hand. Physical therapy will be for gross motor skills development while occupational therapy will be more on fine motor skills and behavioral skills development. Hopefully there will be a vacant slot soon for his OT sessions so I don’t need to find a separate therapy clinic for it. My son has been in the […]
Happy Walk 2016
Last Sunday, we attended the Happy Walk event held at the SMX Convention Center. It was our first time to attend the event so I didn’t exactly know what to expect. Last year, I wanted to join, but given the logistics that Z and I had that time, we weren’t able to attend. Happy Walk is an event of Down Syndrome Association of the Philippines, Inc (DSAPI) in partnership with SM Cares, the corporate social responsibility arm of SM Prime Holdings, Inc (SMPHI). This is to raise awareness and promote inclusion for people with Down syndrome. This is held every […]
Welcome Home, Sweetheart!
We – Z, Yaya Len and I – arrived in the big metro earlier tonight, accompanied by my sis and the van driver. It was a 5-hour relaxed trip with a few heavy traffic jams encountered along the way. We would have arrived earlier but we encountered a glitch with the van arrangement so we got delayed by half a day. All in all, it was good. Since it was already dinner time when we arrived in the big metro, we decided to have dinner first at Megamall before heading home. The little boy was exhausted but had trouble sleeping […]
V-Day Bday Family Day
Valentine’s Day is my Mom’s birthday. Instead of just having lunch somewhere, the family decided to have a picnic at Botanical Garden. We ordered take out food and spent a couple of hours in the park, while occasionally watching tourists go about the area. After lunch, my aunt and cousin went ahead while the rest of the family walked the short distance to Volante to have coffee. After coffee, we played tourist by walking through Wright Park then climbing the stairs going the The Mansion. I didn’t take photos but my sister and my brother did (and I still have to […]
Simple Joy…
The last weekend of January, I decided to bring Z to the Children’s Park at Burnham Park. Given that it was a Sunday, there were a lot of people spending time as a family. There were a lot of kids, too, that I find the park a bit too crowded for my taste. However, that afternoon weather was fine – not too chilly, not too warm. It was a good day to spend in the park, so to speak. I let Z ride the swing. Z’s first experience with a swing was during his therapy session. He didn’t like it. […]
February, February…
Yep, it’s that shortest month of the year again, and this year, the month’s got an extra day. It’s the leap year so February gets 29 days again. For the past couple of years, I have always been mentioning how I hate this month for the reason that it feels too long. However, I think this is the first year that I will say that I am excited. Well, I have several reasons and indulge me as I tell you all about it. We have found a nanny for Z! 😀 Z had a nanny previously – a stay-out nanny in […]
When There’s Silence…
You hear your thoughts loud and clear… It’s 1:45AM this side of the world and I’m on my second cup mug of freshly brewed coffee. I know I should be taking it easy so I can sleep in a few hours but then I needed something to do besides doing the laundry. I’ll do that tomorrow, I guess. My mind has been cluttered with a lot of things lately it is really hard to concentrate. Music can no longer drown out the thoughts that slowly trickles through my consciousness. So, I might as well give it time and go through […]
