Still Alive…

I haven’t been blogging as frequently as I wanted to these past few weeks because I have been very busy with work lately. One issue after another, all piling up and resolution is not as quick as we have wanted it to be. Sometimes, that is the dilemma that I encounter with working with people in different time zones all at time. Anyway, it is already February, the shortest month of the year and yet, almost always, feels like the longest month ever. We are already in the second week so far and I am so wanting this month to […]

The Life of a Far Away Momma

Being a single working mom is already hard on its own. Being a single working mom away from your child/ren is doubly hard. Some people would think that we have it easy since someone else takes care of our child, that we can live the life the way we used to. But that is not the case. Well, not for me anyway. I have a very supportive family who takes care of my son while I work. The thing is, they live more than a 100 miles away from me. That is about 6 hours’ commute by regular bus, 4-5 […]

Forgetful Momma

It’s the 30th already in this side of the world. My brain is overloaded with a lot of information due to the project that we have just launched. I have been in several calls today, been an all around helpdesk, running back and forth from one area to another. I am feeling drained. My body hurts from being cooped in an airconditioned room, sitting in front of my laptop, reading emails and answering emails and staring at spreadsheets the whole day. I am exhausted. And then I come home today in a very quiet, lonely apartment and stare at my […]

My Thoughts On The Papal Visit

Before anything else, let me write my disclaimer down: This post is not meant to insult any religion, belief or faith nor do I intend to insult anyone. I am merely writing down my thoughts on what I know is a very sensitive topic for the majority of the people who might get to read this. I am not trying to look down at anything or even trying to be superior in terms of beliefs over anyone else’s. I would just like to “think out loud”, to simply put, in the hopes that maybe, there will be some readers out there who […]

Midnight Musings

My son slept late tonight. He usually sleeps between 9 – 10 PM however, he took his afternoon nap late, too. He napped at about 5:30 PM and I had to wake him up by 7 PM to take his dinner. So tonight, he slept at almost midnight. 😛 I have been on leave since yesterday since my sister went home yesterday due to a scheduled appointment so it is just me and my little boy until Sunday when I bring the little boy back home. Anyway, since my son slept, I was able to wash the dishes including the […]

52-Week Money Challenge

I have heard and read about the 52-week money challenge sometime last year and I thought it was a good idea. Lately, I have seen a lot of posts about this as well and I was reminded that I am supposed to start this, too. The concept of this challenge is that you set an original amount and multiply that amount by the week. For example, the original amount set is Php 1. For the first week, you set aside Php 1. On the second week, you double that amount so you set aside Php 2. On the third week, […]

Random Thoughts: New Year’s First Post

It’s been 6 days since the first day of the year and here I am, typing away this post just now. And just Random Thoughts at that. LOL! As I type this, I am currently in a conference call while sitting beside my bed where my son is snoring the night away. I am not sure how long this call will go but it seems that the issue is going to affect a whole lot of operations, especially the project that we are about to go live towards the end of this month. So, before I go further, let me […]

2014 in review

The WordPress.com stats helper monkeys prepared a 2014 annual report for this blog. Here’s an excerpt: A San Francisco cable car holds 60 people. This blog was viewed about 2,700 times in 2014. If it were a cable car, it would take about 45 trips to carry that many people. Click here to see the complete report.

The Year That Was – A Review of 2014

Here we are on the last day of the year. And while my son take his nap and before I start with my preparations for media noche, I am going to take this moment to sit on my, err, my sister’s bed and write this post. So, here goes what happened this year in summary: January: This year’s first month was not a really good month for me, so to speak. It was my first time to leave my baby with my Mom while I travel back to the big metro to work. This was when my being a weekend mom […]
