Midnight Musings

My son slept late tonight. He usually sleeps between 9 – 10 PM however, he took his afternoon nap late, too. He napped at about 5:30 PM and I had to wake him up by 7 PM to take his dinner. So tonight, he slept at almost midnight. 😛

I have been on leave since yesterday since my sister went home yesterday due to a scheduled appointment so it is just me and my little boy until Sunday when I bring the little boy back home.

Anyway, since my son slept, I was able to wash the dishes including the little boy’s bottles and bowls, wash half of my laundry and all of the little boy’s laundry, ironed his clothes, stowed his toys and cleaned my living room area. Whew! Haha! I cannot do any of those things when the little boy is awake because he keeps on crawling towards the electric fan trying to hold it, climbing the couch or the table, or walking (while holding on to the table and shelves) towards the television so he can lick the screen. And putting this kid to sleep at night is close to a nightmare. It can take hours before he succumbs to slumber. Most of the time, he will do anything to fight off sleep at night.

I know, I know. I now have a toddler. And I am happy to know that. But I wouldn’t say that it’s not exhausting because it is. This kid couldn’t just keep still. He likes to move around. A LOT. And I thought I would be able to get some work done in between playing with my little Z. Guess not.

Given all this, it made me realize how do stay-at-home moms do all these? Take care of a very active toddler, do the long list of household chores, get the groceries (with a toddler in tow at times) and breathe all at the same time. All I know is that I don’t think I will be able to do it the way you guys do it or else I think I will go crazy. 😛 Seriously, hats off to all of you.

Before I go start blabbing further, I think I myself will get some rest now since the little boy has gone back to sleep after finishing his milk. 😛

  1. I started laughing with you described your active DD and how you can’t do anything when he is awake. My little DD is in full swing at this precious toddler stage. He even follows me to the bathroom, so he can play with the toilet paper. I can’t work when he is around because he wants to type on the computer and conduct his own conference calls. Enjoy your little DD, he sounds like a lot of fun and many laughs….

Thanks for the laugh and for letting me know that I am not alone. I found you on Bloggy Moms.

    1. Hi! Even my son does that – type on my computer while I am using it. He’s had sent several chat messages to a friend I was talking to online. He is fun to be around with but I am not gonna lie and say it is not exhausting. 🙂

Welcome to the world of toddlerhood, momma! Good luck to us! 🙂
