“Stop and smell the roses” is no longer just a quote for me. This is a reminder that, given the pace of life nowadays, we need to learn to appreciate the small things, else we miss out on the most wondrous things that we may experience. There’s no need to rush things especially in learning because we might miss out on the most important lessons as well.
Trip Down Memory Lane: The Confirmation…
It’s already 4AM here and I am yet to settle on my bed. I have a leak in the bathroom’s ceiling which I reported to the maintenance when I got home. Unfortunately, the water leakage is coming straight out of the light fixture. That means that I cannot turn the light on to avoid further accidents. Apparently, the leak was caused by the renovation being done at the unit directly above mine. The maintenance guy and one of the roving guards mentioned was not authorized. Oh well. And I have to get up early later to run some errands that I […]
Midnight Musings: Reminiscing the Past…
… to know what’s wrong with the present… For quite sometime now, I have felt like I am floating or falling into an abyss. Or maybe I am hanging somewhere. And I am reminded of a song from way back then… Somewhere in Between by Lifehouse. And the line on the song goes like this “I’m somewhere in between what is real and just a dream”… I don’t know. I’ve been thinking quite a lot for the past few weeks. About the past, about the present, about the future. And I think that some things need to change. I just […]
The Money Challenge…
It’s already the 12th of the month this side of the world and I have yet to decide what money challenge I would take for this year. Last year, I attempted to do the 52-Week Money Challenge that was trending the cyber world. I used my son’s bank account to keep the savings and I also kept a spreadsheet to track down how much I was able to save. I started out with a base amount of Php 50 but I didn’t stick to the dictated amount to be saved per week. Every payday, I would deposit my extra cash and […]
Happy New Year!
Happy New Year! 🙂 It has been a quiet celebration here for us, both for Christmas and New Year. Nevertheless, I am happy to have spent the holidays with my family. At the end of the day, that is what matters anyway, right? Since it was just us (my son and I, my Mom, youngest brother, sister, grandma and uncle), we just had a simple dinner for New Year’s Eve here at home. I was not able to take a photo of the food set up but my brother cooked beef stroganoff served with either pasta or rice and my Mom […]
12 Days For The Year That Was – December 2015
Merry Christmas! It’s already the 25th here on this side of the world. My brother and sister are outside having bonfire and drinks with a few friends. Little Z is already asleep after a busy day, my Mom is already asleep as well and my youngest brother went house-hopping. 😀 It’s been a quiet celebration in this house today. My cousin spent Christmas eve in the hospital because her baby still has to stay for observation and to get stronger (preemie baby). Praying that they will be home before new year, though so we can celebrate here at home. Anyway, more […]
12 Days For The Year That Was – November 2015
Hello from the mountain city where people are expecting the weather to be cold but in fact, not just yet. 😀 I arrived home this afternoon, around 3:30PM, after hanging in the terminal for about 3 hours just to chance a first class ride. I was able to chance it, thank goodness. I slept the whole trip since I didn’t have any sleep the night before because I had to tidy up my apartment and complete packing the stuff that I will be bringing with me, ensuring that I haven’t forgotten anything. Now, I feel so drowsy due to lack of […]
12 Days For The Year That Was – October 2015
I go home to my baby love today. Whoopee! I thought my ticket was at 12PM, I just checked and noticed that I got a 2PM regular trip. Oh yikes! All my bags are packed, gifts carefully wrapped and packed as well. I hope I haven’t forgotten anything though. I just finished tidying my house as well since it will be empty for more than a week. I am planning to go to the terminal in about a couple of hours or less to try to get an earlier trip. I hope I will be able to chance a seat at […]
12 Days For The Year That Was – September 2015
It’s starting to get light outside and here I am, once again, just got into bed preparing to get a few hours’ sleep. I just finished baking the last batch of goodies for delivery later today. Last batch of orders to fulfill. Thinking back about September of this year, it was when I bought my oven. Yes, I bought my very own 30L convection oven and a stand mixer to match. 😀 After a year of contemplation, deliberation and trying to find the best oven that I can afford, I was able to get the 3D convection oven. I don’t know where […]
12 Days For The Year That Was – August 2015
It’s already 6AM here and I just got settled on my bed. I’ve finished my Christmas shopping today. Yey! The hoards of people everywhere is outrageous. Good thing I only have a short list this year and was able to get them all in two days’ time. I also finished baking 10 packs of cookies to be delivered tomorrow, well, today and something else for my own giveaway to just a selected few. Oh, and I got one of the greatest news this afternoon. My cousin already gave birth. Welcome to the world, Baby SR! 😀 My brother already sent […]
