Yesterday was our company’s year end party held at KPub Bbq Restaurant in BGC. Why KPub? From what I’ve heard, it was one of those few places that can accommodate our number. And this year’s theme? Something colorful. To be honest, I’ve had a hard time trying to find something to wear for the event that I decided to stick with a red top. And since it is a barbecue place, it didn’t feel right to dress up to the nines for the night. Though a lot of people really took the effort to doll up. 😀 So here’s what […]
December, oh, December…
It’s already the 10th of December and here I am, just about to write my first post for the month. Apparently, it will be a post that will be full of my usual blabber again. LOL. It has been a very, very busy time for me since last month. We have been locked up esconsed in the conference room at work for the past three weeks (this is our fourth week now), working on resolving a lot of issues with the project that we are involved in. We have quite a few weeks before the project is launched and to […]
Oh, Christmas Tree…
So I stayed in the big metro this weekend to have some much needed rest and a little retail therapy. Plus, I needed to clean my apartment. It doesn’t look like a home of a woman already. LOL! Anyway, so there were a lot of sale that happened this weekend. I think almost all of the big malls went on sale and no matter how many they are and how strategically located they are, there was still heavy traffic jam all over the big metro. Yesterday, I decided to see what the sale is all about in Glorietta. I haven’t […]
#RandomThoughts: Friday Madness…
Warning: this is a rant post because I just want to rant. It is quite depressing to say the least. I just needed to get these things out of my system before I start exploding. I’ll try to keep it as tame as possible, though. Consider yourself warned. It’s payday Friday for most of us corporate slaves and some have already got their bonuses. All I can say when I when I saw my payslip is: “#$(%&^@#*!@+!@$# tax!!!!”. Yeah, I hate this time of the year when I get to open my payslip and see my year-to-date tax payment and […]
Christmas Shopping Starts Now…
It’s already the start of the second week of November. Where have all those weeks gone by? Just barely 7 weeks and it is Christmas once again. Have you started with your Christmas shopping yet? I haven’t yet. I haven’t started decorating yet, too, since I find it a tad bit too early for Christmas decorations. We usually start decorating at the end of the month or the first weekend of December. My schedule has been going haywire lately and I haven’t had the chance to visit the sale and bazaar events that I’ve been waiting for for months. 🙁 Today is […]
MBP’s Halloween Party
Last Saturday, we attended the Mommy Bloggers’ Philippines first Halloween Party. Unfortunately, my son doesn’t fit in his Superman romper anymore and I didn’t have time to look for ideas for his costume, much less DIY it. So my son was costume-less during the party. Anyway, I didn’t expect that the event was going to be that grand. I was thinking probably about half of the actual attendees will be there and there won’t be that much activities happening as well that that many sponsors for the event. My family don’t believe in Halloween and we don’t celebrate it as well. […]
Control-Freak Mom Goes One Year…
…and I almost forgot it. Yep, this blog turned a year old yesterday, October 5th. And it’s been active since I started. That is a feat for me. Whoopee! Now, what? I’ve been planning on getting my own domain so this blog can progress but as of now, it is not yet on top of my budget list. Though hopefully I will be able to get my own domain up and running by next year. For now, I’ll keep this one going. 😀 I have never really thought that I would enjoy “publicly” blogging (so to speak) and sharing bits […]
#RandomThoughts – Uhm…
At this time, I should have already been in the bus going home to my little boy. However, I had postponed it for another day because I was supposed to attend the Blogapalooza event tomorrow. However, due to the monsoon rain that hit the metro almost the whole day which caused flooding in several areas, the event will be rescheduled. I have been contemplating of going to the bus terminal now to chance a trip going home but with the recent event that a colleague of mine encountered with a taxi cab, I am deciding against the idea. I had […]
An Interesting Conversation…
I had a very interesting conversation with two of our Indian consultants last month when I was in Singapore. One of my colleagues and I were outside of the hotel when the two consultants came out for some fresh air, too. We got into a casual conversation at first about work then life in general. Until it came to the point that they both learned I’m a single mom. There comes the long conversation. 😀 You see, single parenthood in India, from what I gather from the conversation, is still taboo. So they asked me a lot of questions: How […]
Being a Weekend Mom
Another long day over. And I mean literally long day. I’ve been up since 8AM and was out of the house before 10AM. And I just got home about an hour ago. Let’s not talk about that, shall we? 😀 Although I need all the powers that be to intercede in the processing of my passport due to an urgent business need to travel. I need the passport to come out by the 14th of this month. But like I said, that’s not what I really wanted to talk – well, write – about. Since the start of this year, […]
