The Most Wonderful Time of the Year

the most wonderful time of the year

What’s not to love about this month? It’s all about good vibes and smiles and cheers (and booze and caffeine and chocolates and late night binge watching your favorite movies, hahaha!). You hear Christmas songs being played everywhere and it just makes you feel good. Admit it, Christmas songs makes you smile, too. And probably shake your head as you reminisce your childhood during Christmas, hahaha! Right?

Christmas Is Here Again

It’s already the 24th on this side of the world and it is just now that I am posting something Christmas-y. It’s been a chaotic start of the month and with all the appointments crammed before the holidays, well, I didn’t have time left to sit down and totally write something cohesive. Anyway, I’ve put up the tree in my apartment a few days into November. Given that we won’t be spending the holidays in the big metro, I opted to have the tree up a month earlier than I usually do just so we can have something to look forward to. […]

Mommies Get Gifts Too…

Not counting the yearly tradition of gift exchange we have in the family, it’s been years since I have joined any gift exchange activities with a group. So when Mommy Bloggers Philippines came up with a gift exchange activity this year, #MBPGiftSwap, I eagerly signed up because it is the first time that I got to experience gift exchange activity without meeting the recipient of my gift. Gifts were shipped to recipients and I got to ship my gift to someone down south. I really found that cool! 🙂 Another reason why I joined? Because mommas get gifts, too, during the […]

12 Days For The Year That Was – January and February 2015

I was planning to start a 12 blog posts for 12 days of Christmas but I have already missed two days. I kinda lost count, actually. Haha! I was thinking of doing another series of 12 Days of Gratitude – just like what I did last year – and then I thought, why not do something different? So here is what I am thinking. Since I have already done 12 Days of Gratitude last year, why not recount the things that I have been most grateful for for each month of this year? Sounds good? I’ll be doing January and February […]

12 Days of Gratitude – Day 10

Merry Christmas, everyone! 😀 We just had a little food prepared for noche buena since most of us won’t really be eating anyway (and there were only a handful of us at home). My Uncle, siblings and cousins set up a bonfire at the back of the house and had the annual drinking session that lasts until the sun comes up (or until everybody’s too drunk to drink anymore. LOL!). Little Z woke up at around midnight as well and he was able to open (with Mommy’s help) his gifts. 😀 As usual, he was more fond of the wrappers […]

12 Days of Gratitude – Day 9

It is the eve of Christmas. 🙂 Today, we spent lunch with friends and little Z, Kuya Sam and Bea met together for the first time. It seems that the three kids are all used to spending time with adults that they don’t know yet how to socialize with other kids. LOL! I think it will take a bit more time for them to get used to it. Anyway, for today’s gratitude, and I have really intended this day for a very specific thing to be grateful for. For today, I am grateful for the life of my son. Up […]

#RandomThoughts: Friday Madness…

Warning: this is a rant post because I just want to rant. It is quite depressing to say the least. I just needed to get these things out of my system before I start exploding. I’ll try to keep it as tame as possible, though. Consider yourself warned. It’s payday Friday for most of us corporate slaves and some have already got their bonuses. All I can say when I when I saw my payslip is: “#$(%&^@#*!@+!@$# tax!!!!”. Yeah, I hate this time of the year when I get to open my payslip and see my year-to-date tax payment and […]

Christmas Shopping Starts Now…

It’s already the start of the second week of November. Where have all those weeks gone by? Just barely 7 weeks and it is Christmas once again. Have you started with your Christmas shopping yet? I haven’t yet. I haven’t started decorating yet, too, since I find it a tad bit too early for Christmas decorations. We usually start decorating at the end of the month or the first weekend of December. My schedule has been going haywire lately and I haven’t had the chance to visit the sale and bazaar events that I’ve been waiting for for months. 🙁 Today is […]

Vacation over so soon…

A few hours  from now, I – together with my son and my sister – will be travelling back to the big metro. The holidays are over and I need to go back to work (much to my disappointment 🙁 ). My son has an appointment with his pedia-ophthal on Tuesday that is why he is going back with me. My sister is coming with us as well to help take care of my little big boy while I report back to work. It was a very short two weeks, to tell you honestly. It seems like my son has […]

Z’s First Christmas…

first christmas

This year is my little Z’s first Christmas. If last year’s holiday season was celebrated without my Dad, this year’s Christmas was celebrated with the newest addition to the family.  🙂 Since Z’s doctor gave the go-signal that it is OK for Z to travel, my Mom and my sister brought my baby home for the holidays. I stayed in the big metro for another day to do the super rush shopping for gifts. You see, it has been a habit (well, a tradition) for me to give gifts to the kids during the holidays. It doesn’t really feel the […]
