So, here are the things that usually happen around these months:
At this time, I should have already been in the bus going home to my little boy. However, I had postponed it for another day because I was supposed to attend the Blogapalooza event tomorrow. However, due to the monsoon rain that hit the metro almost the whole day which caused flooding in several areas, the event will be rescheduled. I have been contemplating of going to the bus terminal now to chance a trip going home but with the recent event that a colleague of mine encountered with a taxi cab, I am deciding against the idea. I had […]
I have seen a lot of posts in my FB newsfeeds about different modus operandi happening in public transportations within the big metro. I have seen and heard news about pickpockets and groups of the them even holding up passengers in the cramped up MRT. A few years ago, a former colleague of mine was a victim of this. His newly bought iPhone then was stolen from him. There was also a modus in the provincial buses, which I became a victim of. A couple of thieves will buy a ticket, rides the bus then observes passengers to identify those […]
I had a very interesting conversation with two of our Indian consultants last month when I was in Singapore. One of my colleagues and I were outside of the hotel when the two consultants came out for some fresh air, too. We got into a casual conversation at first about work then life in general. Until it came to the point that they both learned I’m a single mom. There comes the long conversation. π You see, single parenthood in India, from what I gather from the conversation, is still taboo. So they asked me a lot of questions: How […]
As I type this, the bus has just left the terminal on the way to the big metro. I took my usual trip, 11:55pm, just so I can avoid the morning super heavy traffic jam that starts at Balintawak all the way to the end of EDSA on a Monday. However, right now, there’s a storm and the rains have gotten stronger just before we left. I can’t even remember the last time I travelled in the midst of a storm. Last year before I gave birth, we waited out the storm before going home to the mountain city. So […]
Eversince I have become “active” – if you may – in the blogosphere, I have been on the look out for seminars, workshops, conferences and other what-nots that will give me something to blog about. Then I saw an ad somewhere about Blogapalooza. At first, I only knew that it is a blogging event so I signed up right away. (Yep, that’s how impulsive I get). A couple of weeks ago, I received an email confirmation for my registration. What is Blogapalooza, anyway? Blogapalooza is a community. Itβs a link between big and small businesses who have something cool to […]
Anybody had a hard time dealing with DFA? I just did. Remember my post regarding pet peeves a few months ago and I mentioned that one of my pet peeves is dealing with government offices? *Sigh* Let me just recount the events prior to the release of my passport. When I lost my backpack last March, my passport was in there. Being so preoccupied, I forgot to take it out and secure it at home. So, I lost it, too, and it was never returned. Most likely, it already ended up in the garbage dump somewhere in Tarlac. I secured […]
A mother pleading to her daughter’s ex-boyfriend to get back together so that her daughter will live. This part really bothered me. That’s just wrong. I do know that a mother will do everything to make sure her child lives but to plead that an ex-boyfriend – who apparently had moved on with his life – to break off his current relationship to get back together with a dying daughter to make her happy is just plain wrong. I, as a mom, would never force someone to be with my child just to make him happy. You cannot force someone to love you. Plain and simple.
Another long day over. And I mean literally long day. I’ve been up since 8AM and was out of the house before 10AM. And I just got home about an hour ago. Let’s not talk about that, shall we? π Although I need all the powers that be to intercede in the processing of my passport due to an urgent business need to travel. I need the passport to come out by the 14th of this month. But like I said, that’s not what I really wanted to talk – well, write – about. Since the start of this year, […]
I should already be sleeping at this hour since I have an early training tomorrow. Note: 9 AM is way too early for me. π I was already late yesterday for an hour and I don’t want to be late today. After training, I will be going straight to the bus terminal so I can go home to my baby love. I can’t wait for this day to end. It doesn’t matter if my apartment needs cleaning and my hamper is full. I’ll take care of that next week when I come back (yep, good luck to me). Anyway, yesterday, […]
