And here I am once again, blogging on the way to the mountain city. Yep, I am going home for the weekend. Good thing that I bought my bus ticket last Monday when I arrived in the big metro. The queue at the ticket booth was so long, it already reached the main highway. There was a time that I don’t go home during these times because of the heavy traffic jams on main thoroughfares as well as the hassle of lining up to buy a ticket or queueing for a chance ride. And besides, I used to enjoy the […]
Product Review: Attipas: Baby Walking Science
Looking for shoes to help my son properly walk was not easy for me. I had no idea what I need to look for. Though I was advised by family and peers that it is still best for my little boy to learn to walk barefoot, I was worried about the cold tile floor in the house. And since I don’t really want my little boy to be learning to walk barefoot or just wearing socks outside the house, I knew that I needed to get him a good footwear. When I learned about Attipas, I was piqued. Based on […]
Epic Tales From My Encounters with Applicants
Let me segue a bit from the usual mommy/baby stuff or anything related to mommyhood and let me talk about something work-related. Just to give you a background of my career. I have been in the customer service field my whole entire career. I used to work in the marketing group of an IT school for almost a year, handling private companies as my clientele. I’ve been a technical support rep in a call center for almost two years. And for the past almost 8 years, I have been in the customer service department of one of the supply chains of […]
MBP’s Halloween Party
Last Saturday, we attended the Mommy Bloggers’ Philippines first Halloween Party. Unfortunately, my son doesn’t fit in his Superman romper anymore and I didn’t have time to look for ideas for his costume, much less DIY it. So my son was costume-less during the party. Anyway, I didn’t expect that the event was going to be that grand. I was thinking probably about half of the actual attendees will be there and there won’t be that much activities happening as well that that many sponsors for the event. My family don’t believe in Halloween and we don’t celebrate it as well. […]
The Weekend That Was: My First Blogapalooza Event
It’s been a week since the Blogapalooza event and here I am, just about to blog about the event. 😛 I saw Blogapalooza somewhere online and it piqued my interest. I browsed their site and got more information about it but for some reason, I cannot fully grasp the idea. The only reason I got excited about the event was the fact that there will be a lot of freebies to be given away. Hee hee hee! I almost didn’t go to the event due to several factors: 1) I almost had to report for work last Saturday, 2) I […]
Z Moments…
My little boy has been in the mountain city for the past almost three months. And I have been commuting back and forth every weekend since I brought him back home. Given that we only have the weekends to bond and spend time together, I usually take a lot of photos of him as well as videos of his antics. After his birthday, the little boy was still getting gifts in paperbags. For some reason, little Z was more interested with the paper bag rather than the content. And here are three videos to prove it: So funny! 😀 I actually […]
Control-Freak Mom Goes One Year…
…and I almost forgot it. Yep, this blog turned a year old yesterday, October 5th. And it’s been active since I started. That is a feat for me. Whoopee! Now, what? I’ve been planning on getting my own domain so this blog can progress but as of now, it is not yet on top of my budget list. Though hopefully I will be able to get my own domain up and running by next year. For now, I’ll keep this one going. 😀 I have never really thought that I would enjoy “publicly” blogging (so to speak) and sharing bits […]
Product Review: Bibibon’s Biscuit Nibblers
A couple of weeks ago, I received a box of Rebisco’s Bibibon’s in the mail. I forgot to take a photo of it but this is what it looked like. I got this photo from MBP’s site instead. 🙂 When I first saw this in the grocery store, I wanted to let little Z try it. I tried this as a nibbler first for my little boy just to test it out if he can, well, nibble on it even without teeth. So far, he was able to do it and he liked it. We had tried it as a cereal […]
Z @ 13 Months
My little boy turned 13 months yesterday. And while we are apart, we had fun over the weekend. We were able to get out of the house after several weekends of rain in the mountain city. We only went out to buy his diapers and milk and have lunch. 😀 Z has become a very active, very talkative tot. He may not speak coherent words yet but he already has different intonations when he babbles. He also loves to laugh and smile, showing all his dimples in different parts of his face. So cute! His smiles are always a be-still-my-heart […]
The Ogalala Experience: Learning Through Play
“If they can’t learn the way we teach, we teach the way they learn.” This is the adage that stuck to me when I attended the Ogalala Workshop last July 19 at Toy Kingdom Megamall. OI’ve heard many times that children learn through play. However, I never realized that every discovery of a child leads to something useful when as they grow up. And with each discovery, we, as parents, should be there to guide them. Since I’ve learned that my son has Down syndrome, I’ve been searching for seminars and workshops about child development. This is because I wanted […]
