Blog Challenge: What’s your guilty pleasure?
I would say that I have quite a few guilty pleasures. Let’s just not mention them here to save the embarrassment of those with sensitive tastes. ๐ Yeah, right! Haha!
For a long, long time, I had the feeling that all that I spend for myself and myself alone was considered guilty pleasure. Let’s go back to the past. I grew up in a financially poor family (I have to be specific about the poor thing. Because it is possible to say that you are rich in happiness but poor in finances and so on, you get my drift). So there, ย well, I wouldn’t really say we were that poor because we were able to eat 4 times a day, we were able to go to school, and so on. Let’s say, we were getting by but did not have enough for wants. Every penny, well mostly, was spent for things needed.
So when I got a job and starting to receive paychecks, I try to spend so very little for myself. Because my thinking was that, every purchase or expenses I have are wants and not needs. At the back of my head, if I buy something for me, my sibs wouldn’t have anything for what they want as well. Even if that something that I bought was needed.
With that said, I guess, my guilty pleasure would now have to be impulsive shopping. As I grew older and my paycheck became a bit larger than what it used to, I learned how to shop for things that I want and not only needed. I guess it was some sort of satisfying something that was deprived of me before. Or whatever. Or probably, spending for convenience. Well, my guilty pleasure would indeed have something to do with impulsive spending. Not just shopping. ๐
I know I have others that I could list down, but let’s just keep that from public reading for now. Haha!
