Celebrating Chinese New Year with Good Life- Flavors of Fortune

It’s been two weeks since Chinese New Year and I am still craving for tikoy. LOL!

Last January 28, the little boy and I joined the second day of Good Life’s Chinese New Year celebration at Robinsons Place Manila Midtown Atrium.

Good Life, one of the leading Asian food brand, celebrated “Flavors of Fortune: Food Trip Down Chinatown”, a grand Chinese New Year festival to usher in the Year of the Rooster last January 27-28. The 2-day event was open to everyone who loves authentic Chinese cuisine and those who wish to bring in harmony, positive vibes, and prosperity in their lives this 2017.

“Good Life aims for a holistic festivity that promotes a fortune-filled life, which includes the fusion of good food, good relationships and a good disposition in life. We want to joyfully share with the rest of the Filipinos the best of Chinese cuisine through our Asian good line Good Life,” says Fly Ace Corporation General Manager Ramon Daez.

To commemorate this year’s Chinese Zodiac, Good Life held the Good Life Chinoy Dish Showdown on the first day, a culinary competition highlighting modern Chinese-Filipino dishes. Featured participants are some of Manila’s finest hotels which include Hotel Kimberly, City Garden Hotel, Lotus Garden Hotel, Eurotel, Bayview Park Hotel, Amelie Hotel and Best Western Hotel. These hotels battled it out in a live cooking exposition to win the prize for the best Chinese dish.

Guess who won? The trophy went to Eurotel.

Buying Php 90 worth of Good Life products from Robinsons Supermarkets entitled guests with a passport to the event. The Passport provided guests access to the delectable food sampling and activity booths in the event area. It also included a Lucky Dish stub (to vote for their chosen winning Chinoy dish), a Raffle stub, and a Prosperity Tree stub. The Prosperity Tree stub entitled them to pick 1 angpao which holds exciting prizes such as a premium item or fortune.

Good Life also offered samplers of fish fillet and siomai.

For a richer Chinese New Year experience, both days featured the Good Life Chinoy Activity Strip, the Chinoy Food Strip, fortune telling, and more. Everyone had an opportunity to learn Chinese arts and crafts life Chinese Calligraphy, Lantern-Making and more from the featured booths.

There were surprise freebies and raffle prizes given away to lucky guests during the exciting stage games.

We have also witnessed a cultural performance from Chiang Kai Shek College.

The little boy was able to watch the lion and dragon dance at the closing of the event. Unfortunately, I was not able to take a good photo of it. We definitely enjoyed the event even if we got there a few hours before the program ended. Thank you, Good Life!
