A Bazaar and Coffee Date with Superman

Today is little Z’s last day here in the big metro. In a few hours from now (since it is already almost 2 AM in this side of the world), we will travel back home and I will be leaving him with my Mom and sister again. *Sigh* And since my little boy and my sis are stuck in the house the whole week, I make it a point that I bring them out during weekends. And today was no exception.

I have seen the ads in my FB newsfeeds regarding Mommy Mundo’s Expo Mom bazaar in Glorietta. Being a fanatic of bazaars, I knew that I couldn’t let this pass. I know I mentioned this before, but I really love getting freebies during bazaars and other big sale events :). Admit it, I am not the only one who loves getting freebies.

I pre-registered online even if there is no registration fee if you walk in during the event itself. Instead of a registration fee, they asked for voluntary donation for The Kinder Project (you can read here for details). For a minimum of Php 100, you get an eco-bag. And mind you, the eco-bag is not like the others out there. It is made of water-resistant material (I think) and it is perfect for getaways to the beach or pool this summer (for wet clothes and stuff 🙂 ). That’s just my opinion though. 🙂

There were a lot of booths there – Cycles, Manila Baby, Baby Wailers, My Baby Dragon, Enfant, Tiny Buds, Mustela, Tots and Toddlers, Natural Origins – to name a few (well, these are the names that got stuck in my head 🙂 ) I wanted to buy a shirt for little Z from Baby Wailers but they don’t have the size for the shirt design that I wanted. So I will just have to look them up in Facebook and order the shirt there. Haha! Well, I was able to buy something from their booth, though. A cute little dress for my goddaughter. 🙂

I am already using Cycles laundry detergent for little Z’s clothes and I also used Cradle baby bottle and nipple cleanser before so I am quite familiar with their product lines. And given that I have been to a few bazaars in the past and there is almost always a Cycles booth, I know that they give out free samples. And indeed, I was able to get a few. Hee hee!

They only give you one bundle if you inquire with them but if you buy something from them, they will give another two bundles (that’s why I got a few up there in the photo). I bought a small bottle of Cradle toy and surface cleaner to try it out since I haven’t tried this product yet. And given that my little boy loves putting the things he grab in his mouth (usually his toys or blanket) I think it would be good to try this one out especially for the non-plush toys he has.

Going around the area, I found Tiny Buds’ booth. Too bad I decided a little too late (when we were about to head home) that I should have bought their silicon tooth and gum brush. Little Z would have loved it given that his gums are getting itchy (I think he will start teething in the next couple of months, if not next month) and the shape would have been perfect for his mouth, too. Anyway, we were given another sample – Tiny Buds baby bottle and utensil wash. I have never tried their product yet although I am familiar with it since I always see it in malls whenever I visit the baby section and I’ve seen it online as well.

I was looking for a rash guard for little Z since he can already soak in a pool (yipee!) as per his pedia-ophtha’s clearance. I checked out Tots and Toddlers’ booth and there were quite a few people. They do have a few rash guards for sale but I didn’t see a size that will fit my little big boy. There was another booth selling kiddie swimwears but their price range is way above my budget. So even if their rash guard is cute (and orange, too!), I just couldn’t justify the price since I know that we will not have a lot of opportunities to swim before the rainy days begin. And given how fast this kid grows, he might not fit into it the next time he wears it. So I am still on a hunt for a rash guard. Any ideas where I can get a quality rash guard but at a reasonable price?

Another item that I bagged was a couple boxes of baby food for Php50 each from Natural Origins (only one box in the photo since the other one has already been packed). I got two flavors – brown rice porridge with carrots and brown rice porridge with pumpkin. Little Z is currently eating Cerelac and I wanted to try other brands, too. He didn’t like the other alternate that we bought so we’re stuck with Cerelac. Hopefully he will like the ones we just got. And I got another eco-bag from them, too. Weeee! 🙂

After going around the stalls/booths looking for great steals, we headed off to our favorite hangout place in Makati – UCC Park Cafe in front of 6750. Since it was too hot this afternoon, we opted to stay inside first until it cooled down a bit. A few cups of coffee, a sandwich and lots of stories with my bestfriend until sundown.

And since RB had to do grocery shopping nearby, we opted to stay and wait for her since we live in the same area. And while waiting for her, a few more snaps with the little boy and to just share a couple, here goes:

And yes, as you’ve noticed, I dressed my little boy in his Superman outfit. Like I said, he has been growing quite fast so we try to let him wear his clothes several times before he outgrows them. And this costume is one of them. 😀 And besides, with all that my son had gone through for the first six months of his life, there is no disputing the fact that he is my little Superman. So move over, Clark Kent. There’s a new Superman in the house!

???
“Mum, can we go home now?”

It was a good day, indeed. 😀
