Hello, 2021!

What a year 2020 has been!

It’s been almost a year since I last posted here in my blog. There were times that I wanted to write again but, for some reason, I keep forgetting what I was supposed to write. But here I am, ready to revive my little corner of the cyberworld!

Last year, I got stuck alone at home due to quarantine/lockdown. My son was home with my family since I was still reporting to the office a week prior to the official lockdown here in the Philippines. And I am so thankful to have experienced this situation in time where technology is already advanced that, even apart, I was still able to see and talk to my son and family through video calls. Thank you, Facebook Messenger! You have been a sanity saver! Who’s with me on this one? I guess this is one of the things that I am grateful for despite the pandemic.

I was able to do some of the things that I’ve been wanting to do since I was stuck at home. I got to do some of my sewing projects. And one of my greatest achievement for 2020 is that I have learned how to knit a sweater. Yipee! I am proud of this one, that’s for sure. I learned how to knit when I was in first grade, I think. But I never really got around to doing anything out of it. My brother has gotten so good at knitting that he became my motivation to pick up the hobby again. Check Crafty Lukas on Facebook and Instagram and be amazed by his creations. I will definitely blog about the knitting projects that I got to finish last year.

I was able to go home to my son and family after 9 months of being stuck at my home alone. It was such a bliss when I got to see and hold my son again after so long (even if the first thing he said to me was, “bye!”). I got to celebrate Christmas and New Year holidays with my family and until now, I am still here at home in the mountain city. We’re still at a work from home setup, and so far the internet connection’s good here, so I am postponing going back to the big metro until we get an update on when we are supposed to report back to the office.

After a long time, I have, once again, experienced the coldest temperatures here. The lowest we’ve reached so far is 10 degrees celsius (I don’t think that this will get any lower though since it does feel like it’s getting warmer already). Being in this cold weather really makes me feel being home.

Anyway, as I said, I am back and I plan (and I hope) I will be able to post regularly and tell stories like I used to. I have a few stories already lined up so there are quite a few to watch out for. I have just successfully backed up my blog and updated all my platforms and plugins so I am ready to go. I just need to start editing photos to be ready for posting. I’m getting excited!

So, hello, 2021! May you be a whole lot better than last year!
