Happy New Year!

Happy New Year! 🙂

It has been a quiet celebration here for us, both for Christmas and New Year. Nevertheless, I am happy to have spent the holidays with my family. At the end of the day, that is what matters anyway, right?

Since it was just us (my son and I, my Mom, youngest brother, sister, grandma and uncle), we just had a simple dinner for New Year’s Eve here at home. I was not able to take a photo of the food set up but my brother cooked beef stroganoff served with either pasta or rice and my Mom made macaroni salad. I cooked the pasta. LOL!

For media noche, my uncle didn’t join us since he already went to bed but my Aunt, cousin and new baby joined us to celebrate. Photos of the family was taken by my brother and I have yet to get a copy of the photos for my own documentation. Here is how toasts are done nowadays:

Cool, eh? Yep, two bottles for two babies – well, one toddler and one newborn. The rest of the glasses are for the adults who can drink. 😉

Oh and yes, Z woke up by midnight. Midnight is the usual time when he looks for milk. Given that we were quite busy before the clock struck 12, I didn’t notice Z becoming restless in his crib until he woke up. So he was able to celebrate with us.

For New Year’s lunch, we still spent it here at home. My cousins came as well though we were not complete this year. A lot were not able to make it due to conflicting schedules. Regardless of our number, I think we had more food that needed. But I guess it is still a lot better to have more food since we didn’t know how many people were actually coming over.

And take note, this is the first time that I cooked creamy carbonara. To be honest, I am not really a kitchen person. I can manage to cook a few meals for myself, sure. But tell me to cook something that I haven’t tried before for about more than 10 persons, oh man, that is almost asking for trouble. I was not able to take a photo of my so-called masterpiece (thanks to my brother who came home at the right moment to repair the almost failed cream sauce) but I was told it was good. LOL!

After eating, we had our customary game of gift passing (the left/right story) for fun before handing out the gifts that we weren’t able to give last Christmas. We had a few photo sessions before the others left for some other appointments in the afternoon. For those of us who were left, we spent it sitting around the dining table, telling stories while eating. Again. Haha! I think I haven’t stopped eating since I started this lunch.

I don’t have much to say for now, really. I just wanted to greet you all a very happy new year! And I hope this year will bring more abundance in every aspect of our lives. So cheers to 2016!

P.S.

Sorry if the post seem scattered. My eyes are about to drop close now. That’s how sleepy I am now. LOL!

By the way, it rained earlier this evening while in the big metro, it has been raining since yesterday late night I think. I guess that’s the sign of abundance. 🙂
