Z @ 13 Months

My little boy turned 13 months yesterday. And while we are apart, we had fun over the weekend. We were able to get out of the house after several weekends of rain in the mountain city. We only went out to buy his diapers and milk and have lunch. πŸ˜€

Z has become a very active, very talkative tot. He may not speak coherent words yet but he already has different intonations when he babbles. He also loves to laugh and smile, showing all his dimples in different parts of his face. So cute! His smiles are always a be-still-my-heart moment for me. This little boy has just an expressive face, I don’t even want to start thinking what this face will do when he grows older. πŸ˜€

He’s got that inquisitive look at times, too. He loves being part of a conversation and would complain if he thinks he is being ignored. Yes, he is already showing more of his personality. πŸ™‚

At 13 months, he now knows how to crawl military style and he has yet to learn how to do that on all fours. He can get himself on all fours but still lacks coordination (since he tries to move forward with both legs moving forward at the same time). He already knows how to sit on his own and pull himself up to stand in his crib. Even when you reach out your hands to him, he will hold on to it and will pull himself up.

When he wants to go out, he will look towards the direction of the door and would reach out his arm towards it. Bring him closer to the door and he will reach out his arm in an attempt to open the door. πŸ™‚ He loves being outside. He loves the sun in the morning, too.

It is always a struggle to put him to sleep at night. He can sleep easily in the morning and afternoon when he takes his naps but comes the evening, it will take about an hour before he zonks out. He will do anything to keep him awake while you try to put him to sleep. Changing Z is another struggle now. Changing his diaper takes about 3-5 minutes tops before. Now it takes longer because he just can’t keep still. Lay him on the bed and he will get up and sit down or hold on to you to pull himself up to stand. We always wrestle with each other just to get his nappy on.

He also loves his musical toys. He loves music, bottomline. And he now dances to beats. He bobs his head, shake his legs and jumps. I don’t think this kid is going to be a dancer though. LOL! Well, who knows, he might learn how to in a year or two. πŸ˜€

Is he teething yet, you might ask. Actually, no, not yet. Though he keeps biting and rubbing his gums on his bottle teats, it appears that his first tooth/teeth is taking its time coming out as well. Maybe in the next few months, his first chompers will come out. He’s been eating mashed veggies apart from his Cerelac and I bought him Gerber Puffs last month and it appears that he loves it. He still doesn’t know how to pick the puffs up (still need to train him further on that) but once he has one in his hand, he knows how to put it in his mouth (he is at the stage whereΒ everything he grabs goes into the mouth LOL). Oh and he now knows how to chew. πŸ˜€

This little boy may have taken his time developing his skills but from the looks of it, he is already on his way to becoming officially a toddler. I really have to get him his walker now.

Here’s his outfit last Sunday:

Jumper from Osh Kosh B’Gosh, shirt from a bazaar last December, shoes by Crib Couture c/o Ninang RB

The jumper is still big for him but then what the heck. He still looks cute, though. πŸ˜€

I am so looking forward to running after this kid in the next coming months.. πŸ˜€

  1. What a handsome little boy. Even if he is taking time in developing I know in time he will be a very good boy. Get well soon baby. Thanks for sharing Mommy!

  2. We have the same birthday πŸ™‚ I have a 14-month old also and it’s also sooo hard to put diapers on him! I use the pants type now so that I won’t have to lie him down. πŸ™‚

    1. i use pants type too but only when we go out. i use the regular ones when we are at home because i find the pants hard to take off when he poops without spreading poop all over his legs… i experienced it once and it was a total disaster.. πŸ˜›

  3. Oh he really has an expressive face! So cute! It’s okay; he’s going to reach his milestones at his own pace. I don’t think you need to buy a walker; my son walked a little late because of that. Mano2 na pagturo is a lot better.
